"Artists and Museum founders Peter and Catherine Whyte played an intergral role in shaping the art history of Alberta and Western Canada. The story of Peter and Catherine is a story of vision and how two people followed their own passions while making a difference in the lives of others"
In order to apply, a student must submit one completed piece of work in their choice of drawing, painting, sculpture, photography or multi-media .(Although only one submission per student will be accepted, a student may submit up to three works of art in one submission to demonstrate the range of their work).
Submissions must be a minimum size of 11' x 14" to a maximum of 24" x 36" ( except multi-media). A photograph of a sculpture is also acceptable.
The student work will be judged by a committee consisting of art teachers and a Curator from the Whyte Museum .
Submission deadline is May 15
Eligible up to 18 months after graduation from high school
Scholarship amount is $ 1000 to be presented to the student upon presentation of proof of registration at a post secondary institution in a Fine Arts program . thsi amount may be split if there is more than one excellent submssion,
The winning student's art work will be exhibited at the museum.
