Junior Forest Rangers
The Junior Forest Ranger Program is an exciting seven-week summer job that will expose you to unique work,
educational and life experiences. You will be introduced to the science of wildfire and other forest
management principles while living and working in the great outdoors! If you are a student aged 16 to 18
looking for a challenge, this job will give you a chance to find out about career options, an opportunity

Aboriginal Junior Forest RangersNot your normal summer job...As an Aboriginal Junior Forest Ranger,
no two days are the same. Today you could be building trails in a provincial park - tomorrow, touring
the forest from the front seat of a helicopter. All the while, you'll work with youth your age to learn
new skills and earn industry related certifications. If you're an Aboriginal student aged 16 to 19 you're
a perfect candidate to become an Aboriginal Junior Forest Ranger!

ACCA Co-operative Youth Program We offer you a unique opportunity to develop
your leadership skills, create lasting friendships and have a lot of fun.
General Information A week spent at the Co-operative Youth Program includes all the usual activities l
ike volleyball, swimming, canoeing and hiking, but, this is not just any summer program. It also includes
many individual and group challenges, games and exercises designed to help you get the most out of your experience.
Teen Seminars are designed to develop the necessary skills and confidence for teens to participate effectively in groups, clubs, etc.
Any young person who is 13 or 14 years old by June 27 of the program year is eligible to attend.
Youth Seminars are designed to develop skills and confidence in youth to actively take on leadership roles in organizations.
To be eligible, a young person must be 15 or 16 years old by June 27.
Grad Seminar is intended to develop positive attitudes and knowledge that will enable young adults to use their leadership skills
in community organizations. Grad Seminar participants must have completed one of the other levels, or a similar leadership program,
and is 17 or 18 years old by June 27. Graduates of the program are eligible to be chosen for exchange programs and to be invited back as Jr. Staff.

Skilled Workforce (AHEAD) Career Development
The AHEAD Program offers high school
students mentorship and training through a paid summer internship in the
road building and construction sector. Students in grades 11 and 12 and
recent high school graduates can participate in entry-level work
experience in the Calgary, Edmonton or Red Deer areas. Upon successful
completion, students can pursue a post secondary certification or
diploma, and/or employment in the industry. |
Summer Internship in Health Services Youth Initiative
The program allows to you try out a
career in health services, earn 10 high school credits towards your
diploma and get paid! Health Services interns work in a facility such
as a hospital or clinic for six weeks during the summer after their
grade 11 year.If you’re a grade 11 student in
Alberta who’s willing to take on new challenges, then you’re a great
candidate for this program. |
The
Summer Work Student
Exchange
program
is a summer work program that runs for six weeks (from early July to
mid-August) and is aimed at students 16 and 17 years of age who will be
returning to school in September. |
