Who is Involved

Futures Planning Group Members

  1. Mandate - the Futures Planning Group is a group of 22 members of the Bow Valley Community who will provide leadership and direction for the planning project over its duration. They are tasked with helping to develop and deliver to the School Board a complete report that includes community values, trends and forces for change and key directions; and participating in the futures planning process in close collaboration with interested people in the Bow Valley, in ways that build awareness, understanding, participation and commitment to the process, its outcomes and its implementation.
  2. The role of the Futures Planning Group is to:
    • Provide public and internal leadership to futures planning
    • Provide input to the direction to the futures planning process
    • Master the content that is required in order to oversee the futures planning process
    • Take responsibility for reviewing the final report
    • Encourage colleagues, community members and students to participate in the public forums

Community Involvement

The Futures Planning process is open to all and will involve a wide range of people with interest and experience in public education: students, teachers, parents, school administrative staff, School Board trustees, school councils, community agencies and organizations, and community residents.

Process Facilitators

The Futures Planning process will be managed by two Canmore-based facilitators: Carole Stark, of the Chinook Institute for Community Stewardship, and Felicity Edwards, of the CSE Group.
